outside temp display

hi

i have searched , but failed ,

my outside temp display doesnt seem right ,

when cold it usually stays at 0.5 degrees

when my other cars & mothers , show a lot less i,e yesterday mine showed 0.5 , the megane was - 1.5

is there a possibility mines faulty , is there a probe/sensor i can change

I've had mine go as low as -8 degrees Was a very cold night!

The sensor on the leon is behind the grill next to the nearside fog. Other cars can put sensors in silly places (such as the engine bay), so the heat of the warmed engine obviously impacts (the so called) outside temp.

This may explain the differences

could be , i did have it go down to about -6 a few weeks ago , but the usual is 0.5
a very unusual coincidence , thats why i thought mine bunged up with crap or something

I know on the mk3 Ibiza's it's a very common fault. But it would tend to give a more rediculous reading, such as 27oC when it's snowing.

So I'd say yous is probably ok.

got a mk2 ibiza and mine was reading -12 the other morning,something tells me it was fibbing and frozen!

As with any part there is a tolerance on them, i might be wrong but i think it could be +/-5 degrees.
Mine was out for a while but it turned out it wasnt quite connected properly
