Coming up through the gears and accidentally shifted from the top of 4th into 3rd instead of 5th:doh:

F*'~#!!!!:censored:

Think I saw 7500ish on the rev counter:cry:

Car seems to run fine, but I’m worried I’ve hurt it. Redline is about 6500, think the rev limiter is ~7000

How will I know if I've done it a mischief?

Would it have gone into limp mode?
Is over rev reported in diagnostics?
What noises / potential broken oparts should I be looking out for?

:help:

Rev limiter is 7200rpm and you would know if you have hit it or not.

No damage would of been done though.

I won't worry to much about it, you should see the stress testing they do on these engines in development, i think i seen a program once where they had one running full tilt for 3 weeks non-stop.

Diagnostics may show the "maximum engine speed exceeded - warranty void" fault code... If it runs as before without any new noises, then i wouldn't worry.

A mate of mine shifted from top end of 3rd (95mph) down into 2nd instead of 4th, unfortunately it wasn't a Seat, hence it didn't survive!
