P2185 Error Code

Hi,

The engine management light has come on and it's throwing up code P2185 and description says engine coolant temperature sensor circuit 2 high?

I thought the other day that the fan seemed to be running quite a lot even from cold startup but doesn't seem to be doing that today?

Any ideas as to what is wrong?

It's a 2010 1.4tsi ibiza

I would start by replacing the sensor

How much is the sensor from seat? And what is the part number?

And also euro car parts have them for £13, is it better to get official VAG part?

dont know on the price but if my old audi is to go by about £30 all in

this was a sensor clip and seal all separate parts

you need to check if the seat will need all these

and from experience genuine VAG parts only for things like this!

I'm not knocking ECP, but for that sort of thing, I prefer getting from a VAG dealer, just find the P/N using the on-line VAG parts catalogue and go to your nearest Seat/VW/Skoda dealer.
