Agreed it just looks wrong. I've been behind a few cars that have done it and it looks like you say broken. Even the delayed method looks a bit tacky.

Agree. What’s wrong with the good old traditional indicators that just flash on and off?

I think that most of these so called dynamic indicators look a bit gimmicky (or a bit ‘Halfords’). Wasn’t it Audi that started the trend of fitting these?

The PROPER dynamic ones look great. The Audi ones, VW ones etc that are designed to do it. I see fords and peaugeots now have them on the front which looks a bit off. however those with two separate parts that flash just look like they’re trying too hard to be dynamic and look completely wrong.

it is all opinion so if you like it carry on and I don’t want to hurt anyone or argue about it.

Nothing wrong with disagreement - different people, different strokes ;)

I understand it is a bit borderline, this one - eventually I will get bored and code it back to stock.
Yeah if we were all the same life would be boring. But as said before will be illegal and invalidate insurance.

Can you not get proper dynamic bulbs that fit the unit? Then it would “flow” across to the outer bit rather than two separate flashes?

I guess you can’t. But surely it won’t be long until seat gets on the dynamic bulbs trend?

You can retro fit a dynamic LED control unit, and there are companies that fit them for you, or you can buy a tail light cluster off them and get a discount if you swap your tail lights with theirs.

If you are confident with eletrical components you could probably do it yourself. Personally I neither want to spend the money to get someone else to do it, nor do i want to break my brand new car.

PureWrap do it for about £1,000

EDIT:
You could try modifying the taillight yourself with these, but you would void any warranty the minute you open the light cluster.

As above, I believe there was issues in the past with activating the Pace Car Indicators via Carista.

Has anyone managed to get this to work yet? I’d rather not pay the fee only to find out it’s still broken.

I have a 2015 Cupra ST.

Got them working on my 2019 Cupra using OBD 11. At first the outer LED would work but theres another option you will need to change i will screenshot the settings for the factory configuration and then what it needs to be edited to. ( For OBD 11 only)

doesn’t affect me anyway as I’m PFL so have the shitty rear indicators lol. It’s a mod I wouldn’t do anyway.

Did you get these working fine and can you show the results and how you did it? Thanks!

I don’t suppose you know if this works for the estate do you?

It is the same - but this only works for facelift.
Yeah I’ve got a 20 plate estate, this is the code I used (see below) but it makes the drivers side work fine but only the outer indicator works on the passengers side the inner one doesn’t for whatever reason. I don’t suppose you have any idea as to why?

we enter the module 9
-adaptation- and here we search where you put:

-leucite 16blk slb35blk sl kc9 and look inside: lichtfunktion A 16 and change the value to: Blinken links dunkelphase.

we introduce the security code: 31347

-leucite 16blk slb35blk sl kc9 and inside we look for: lichtfunktion C 16 and change the value to: Blinken links Hellphase.

now we look for the following:

-leuchte17tfl r blk srb3tfl r blk sr kc3 and inside we look for: lichtfunktion A 17 and we change the value to: Blinken rechts Dunkelphase

-leuchte17tfl r blk srb3tfl r blk sr kc3 and inside we look for: lichtfunktion C 17 and change the value to: Blinken rechts Hellphase

Awesome - bet you had a dimmwert 0 where should have been 127 or then you were not making the changes to the right channel ;)
Believe it or not I had to change ENG110982-ENG118187-Leuchte108LK SLB35BLK 8L KC9-Lichtfunktion E 18 to not active and K09-Lamoendefekibitoosition 18 to 0 😂

that looks decent I don’t suppose it’s possible to code it like that with the pace lights is it 👀

Everything is possible provided you understand how light channels and functions work.

I figured that coding myself by experimenting.

The principle is this this:
- Find the light channel for the light you want to edit

- Choose an unused function channel/Bank (that AB / CD / EF, etc)

- Assign a function to the function channel (e.g. Blinking in phase, blinking out of phase, etc.)

- Choose the dim level

Always make screenshots and notes of what you change, so worse case scenario, you change it back - then just experiment.

You can have any light in the car do anything. Literally. They are all interchangeable.

I had my foglights come up with the long lights too.
