Due to some little t~~~ damaging my car I have had a go at the repair myself.

The problem is the paint match is a shade off and seems to be a little green
and dont know if its worth the £100 the bodyshop wants to repaint it:confused:

Here are some photos.

Please let me know what you think.

New photos below. Hope they work

Not sure why but for some reason those photos will not load. If you are not happy with the repair then £100 does not sound too steep.

Ask what paint the bodyshop uses and assuming you are happy with the repair make a note (in case of future tw@ts doing the same thing again!).

Assuming they did the original repair/paint why pay them more???

Re the match they should blow into adjoining panels as regardless of what paint they use there is a very good chance the paint wil nto match exactly.

Slight problem is that legaly they only have to get an 'acceptable' match so they can be a shade out and nothing you can do if they wont play ball :censored:

We had fun with my elise when I bumped it a couple fo years ago, it was painted in a 7 way flip (cost £6000), in theory you could blow the colour in through the length of the car however if it did not work they would have to start again and do the whole car, nb cost was £500/ltr for the colour coat alone so a big risk, we therefore decided to go for a full respray, took the opertunity for a slight change to 21 way flip, £7,000 later, no problem with colour match and a unique car.

Paint is a bugger and it often will cost you to get a good job and even then this alone is not guarantee (nb I have been banded from about 6 garages in Sheffield due to being disatisfied with their work and telling them)

I can see it but I would say from a legal point it would be deemed as 'acceptable'.

hope you get it sorted

Its been sorted next week. It will then be for sale.
I have got to go back to a petrol. A derv maybe good mpg but I dont like the noise
cheers
