I would be interested in this too, i assume its pretty easy to remove, but you will need both gaskets changining(inlet and rocker cover)

Mine needs doing, it looks awful currently

Fairly simple to do, for the rocker cover you need to unbolt all of the bits from the top and the boost pipe, pop the coil packs out then undo all of the 10mm nuts..i re-used the original gasket as it is rubber and will re-seal.

For the inlet you need to unbolt the throttle body, pop the pipes off from the underside of the mani, undo the bracket that supports it and then unbolt from the head..would recomend using a new gasket or even better installing an insultaor gasket from the likes of Badger5

Currently got my inlet off atm and sanding it down and cleaning up the casting marks.

Then going to give a good wash and spray with hammerite black satin.

Here is how it came out...

Mine looks almost the same as kyle'87s although I did the rocker cover at the same time along with washer bottle and dip-stick tube and handle.

Will be having them powder coated next time as cant find the colour I want in rattle can form lol

That looks mint mate Really does what paint did you use

I used hammerrite matt black spray paint.

Few tips on painting...

Its all in the prep work. Make sure you get all the crap off the manifold. I find if you use shampoo it breaks it down nice and easy. Seal up all the holes with the best masking tape you can get. Be patient with light coats.

If you have any mates which have access to an acid dip then use it, also comes out beautiful before painting.

Something im doing within the next couple of weeks

Are the injectors simple to remove from the inlet manifold?

They come out pretty easy tbh but just be gentle with them. Take them out connected to the fuel rail unless you are prepared to crimp the fuel lines.

There are 4 bits of plastic that stay in the manifold so make sure you tape them up before spraying.

did you literally put the whole thing in a bucket of water and scrub it first
were did you get your paint to

Yep, Bucket of warm water with some shampoo and a sponge lol Then used some white spirit to remove any left over crap.

Halfords for the paint mate. Like 7.99?
