Parcel Shelf Strings...

The strings that attatch the parcel shelf to the boot lid so that the shelf raises when you open the boot, have broken, does anyone know If I can get new clips/strings to put on the shelf?

Quite cheap from the dealers, though I think you till have to get replacement winders as well. I got them some time ago (can't find the part #) still haven't got around to glueing them onto the shelf.

What bits are you glueing? Should just clip in place. Avaiable from dealers for about £8 (retractable ones)

The retracter unit bit that goes onto the underside of the parcel shelf. When I got my car they had been removed, so I need to attach my replacement units to the shelf itself.

Me too - I've got the strings still attached to the parcel shelf just fine, there's a little teardrop shaped bit of plastic on the end of each string with a hole through them, and a couple of holes one on each side of the interior rear window surround. Looks like there should be a little peg in the holes on the window surround to attach the strings onto or something...

The winders are available, the covers that hold them to the shelf however are aparently obsolete....

I just bought a new parcel shelf instead.

I got those from Ted Johnson on here for like £3.00

He has his own section in the dealer bits. Very quick too.
