Hi guys been a long time again since ive been on.

Just in need of some advice...ordered some new coilies to replace my gmax setup as they are now leaking.

Recommend replacing top mounts? if so can i have a part number for my 1.4 apq 99 reg mk2. everytime i go dealer they give me mk3 parts off of my reg.

Also can i get a part number for my hub nuts?

For some reason i cant get onto vagcat.

Thanks in advance. Jeff.

I'll check vagcat if I can get on ok but there's sometimes part numbers in the faq for the different cars on the home page.

No worries, the part number on vagcat is 1L0407643.

I just changed a top mount on my car and it totally cured my knocking, took me forever to try it lol, changed everything else first.

If you keep getting the noise go to a car parts shop but not the dealer and just ask for a strut mount for a 98 ibiza. I suspect they're probably the same for the Mk2 and Mk3.

sweet for that. Really appreciate it. I dont even know what knocking would be like...with the amount of things that rattle on the beeza. I should be able to visually tell if theyre gone though shouldnt i?

You'd like to think so but it's not always so simple, some stuff is obvious but some isn't. If you're getting a lot of rattles from the front I'd check the steering rack arms, the track rod ends, ARB is really bad for rattle, the bottom ball joints for more of a knock, the same with the rear bushes in the front wishbones and the strut top mounts.

well first thing that springs to mind would be the balljoint ad the passenger side went a while back.

Just need to get the car in an alright state before i hand it over to my sister. And get my new motor. The beeza will become a daily commuter.

Then again rattle part of me thinks it may be that piece of metal behind my discs. That metal plate.

Sad to say but ive been thinking of going jap.

Yeh the backing plates if they're hanging off.

Each to their own really, I enjoyed my older toyotas, had a Mk1 mr2 and a couple of celicas, 1978 and 1980.

Tell you what though, I can cruise between 80 and a 100 mph and still get 45mpg in my tdi. I've really liked my cordy and still do, going for some more styling and even more power as and when I can. I'll get 150bhp with a vnt 15 and tune and round about 300 torques and still get good mpg's.
