Is there anything I can do to invoke a bit more 'feel' in the steering? I feel the PAS is too strong, and feels disconnected from the front wheels. Is the PAS speed sensitive - I've not yet done greater than 40 mph ;-0

I have a simlar problem, also follows "tram lines"or feels like it. The sport tech is also fitted with something else "servotronic" on the steering system, but have not been able to establish what this expensive piece of kit actually does!!. Believe you can adjust the feel via VAGcom but the Seat s/w does not/is not able to do this?

Found a long thread about it on the A3 8P (the one I just sold!) allowing changes to be made via VAGCOM, but for the A4 it seems to be impossible, save for removing the servotronic fuse/relay which turns off the speed sensitivity but leaves the PAS on ... apparently that improves things but I'm not sure I fancy tinkering with it without knowing that nothing else is affected.

Sorry edit - found this that refers to the A4, but not clear if its B7/B8

Tighten the steering: Macuser reported on AudiZine.com that by coding in 09 - Cent. Elect. the byte 07 from 01 to 00 (that is, turn off/set to 0 the bit 0 in byte 7) will tighten/stiffen the steering considerably. As with the TPMS coding above which affected the ABS unit, a word of serious warning because this affects systems relating to control of car. This coding was apparently found by accident, nobody in public seems to know what it really does and how. It might adversely affect your car's control, warranty and/or break it, for all we know. So try at your own risk, with care and outside of open roads.
