I'm not an mot tester Rich so a bloke i work with failed it because theres no cat on it. If i could get away with it then i would have done mate

Hi guys well finally the throttle cable arrived, fitted it last night and the car got mot'ed today... it passed!! :funk: When fitting a new cv boot for the mot i decided to check the gearbox oil... not even a cup full came out of it and some metal chunks came out from somewhere. Anyway i had nothing to loose so filled the box up with oil and drove it to work today. Only to find an oil leak coming from the gearbox, the differential bearings have collapsed  My decision is to now either re-build the box depending on its state internally or buy another second hand one. The bonus of a re-build is i no i'm not buying somebody elses crap and the bearings will probably last the life time of the car.

Good that its passed but very disheartend as i need to find more money and time from somewhere. Anybody got any tips on stripping these gearboxes? Any bolts that need to be replaced? Thanks.
