PDI + Delivery Mileage

Folks,

Took delivery of a Leon FR TDi early this week. When the car arrived it had 0.1 miles on the clock. Surprised it was so low, but didn't think too much of it. The car is lease purchase and was delivered on a low loader from up the line. I've now realised that there is no PDI form in the documentation.

I thought part of the PDI involved driving the car to check that the steering, brakes, and general drive were fine. With 0.1 miles on the clock I fail to see how this has been done. I shall naturally be contacting the garage and my lease company ASAP.

Am I right in thinking that a PDI hasn't been done, or have others of taken delivery of a car with a similar distance reading (my last car had 8 miles on the clock when delivered)?

With the ride that I am experiencing (especially on long trips) I'm beginning to wonder if the delivery blocks have been left in!

Think it depends on when the car was taken out of transport mode might have been the last thing that was done as it wipes the mileometer i believe

Your service book should have a PDI stamp on it if I remember correctly which states who done it and when, mine did. Check with that in the first instance.

My last Leon Cupra was leased and had no PDI stamp in the book. Either it wasn't done or the dealership it casme from are slack, find out where it came from and give them a call to check....

Thanks for the replies. It appears that the garage are allowed to reset the mileage counter back to zero for anything less than <100 miles. So following the PDI it was reset. They will try and track down the PDI and send me it in the post.

Makes you wonder what else they can reset?
So they can reset under a 100 miles and sell it as new?

????
