Performance discs for the cupra and FR

Its a shame the exchange rate is so shitty at the moment though, equivelant tarox discs are just a little more dear.

Can someone tell me the dimensions of those discs. I am looking for a complete set for my Cupra - so it should be 345mm for the front and 286mm for the rear. Do you think a 350mm disc can be fitted in the place of 345mm? I've been searching all popular break brands and I couldn't find 345mm performance discs - no Tarox, no Brembo no nothing. Can you find something?

tarox have some front discs at 345mm but none that will fit the rear of the cupra iirc.

I am not gonna bother with uprated brakes on mine. I have found a place that can do front pads (OEM SEAT jobbies) for £45 delivered and OEM SEAT front brake discs (pair) for approx £140 delivered. I think the OEM brakes are more than ample and would only change to light weight brakes if at all.

I just have normal breaks on my FR and unless the road is warm and the tyres warm, maximum breaking just makes the ABS start.

How can the disks improve breaking if the type-tarmac contact point cannot handle the breaking of the basic breaks?

Or do these aid maintaining a sustained performance, eg. track or similar driving style?

Don't have any problem with the braking power, they are more than ample. However the feel of the brakes are poor, I would like to replace the brake lines and use a performance fluid to see if it improves the performance and pedal feel. Though if they are over-servoed it may not make any difference.

The trouble I have is they are either on or off, having had the Cupra R with the Brembo's before the Cupra the feel of the brakes were much better. The Brembo's would give a more consistant feedback through the pedal, where as the Cupra does not. They act more like a switch.

You can press them slightly and get non to little braking action, press a bit harder and your kissing the windscreen. There appears to be very little middle ground.

They are undoubtedly good brakes in the fact they stop you, but they are not all round good brakes for driving.
