mmmmm Monaro, if it was a 5.7 thats not really fair as you have more bhp and torque,

But if it was a VXR-S you wuld have lost big time

I take it a VXR-S is one up from the VXR??

I thought that the VXR was Vauxhall Racing... so now they have a Monaro VXR sport?

Either way I love the Monaro's whether I was to win or lose lol

He prob means the VXR500.

It has 493bhp (from 397bhp), with its torque also up from 390lb-ft to 499lb-ft. Other additions to the conversion include an upgraded fuel system and clutch revisions.

Vauxhall expects that the VXR500 will do 0-60 in under five seconds and have a top speed in excess of 180mph. It is available for £35,995 on-the-road (which is, bizarrely, £1,000 less than the standard VXR).
 
There are about 6 different ones.

there is the basic Monaro 5.7 which is 329bhp This was then 349bhp in phase 2.
VXr was a 6.0 which came with 376 then 400 bhp. The VXRs have a deeper kit and always had bonnett vents.

The VXR-S or 500 as its sometimes called was a supercharged 6.0 litre with surprise 500 bhp.

My mate owned a remaped mk1 5.7 with rip shifter and exhaust, his was 400 bhp and so much fun, but juicey as hell, he was lucky to get anymore than 17mpg on average,

Funnily enough his girlfriend was taken out ot australia a couple of weeks back by autocar to review the new VXR-8 ( monaro replacement) said it was ven quicker.

when he used to let off in his, tuned 5.7 it would bank and crackle so much it sounded likeyou had a set of drums on the car. Just totally earth unfriednly, but certainly fun
 
See the overhaul thread, IHI VF34 with a P20 housing, made 343bhp and 315ft/lbs on the rollers at Awesome GTI!! Depending on how you drive really do reccomend a diff, and upgrading some of the bushes too.

Havent got the money for a diff, and to be honest it drives fine the way it is, just gotta control my right foot, spinning in 4th on the motorway is a little strange lol... (it was wet)

Cant wait to get this on the rollers :D

Does anyone with IHI run an uprated N75? Just wondered... some people rave about them, some people don't lol.

Also I serviced the 007P, and the flutter noise I get when the turbo is on boost has got quieter and the needle doesn't flick between 22-26Psi as it did, currently using a blue spring... but I think the DV cant handle the boost, the missus says it hits 24-25 PSI..but still flicks around a bit.....I have a red spring in the glove box... any ideas??

Mike what does the IHI sound like compared to your old Ibiza? You need to stick some sound clips up of it as Id love to hear the difference.

You taking it to any shows this year? Theres the GTi international in 2 weeks, would be good to see it there,:D

dont go too stiff a spring otherwise DV wont open much at all, and defeats the object of having it.
Green spring on mine was good for 22psi without leakage, so yellow is next one up just in case.

I'm running yellow in mine on 35psi boost no issue

Its got a scorpion exhaust, so its very loud and sounds alot different, but I might be speaking to Hoochy about a swap for his Milltek as I prefer the Milltek noise, and I think my neighbours hate me...

As for the Turbo it sound IMMENSE lol, Such a nice dump too lol

Will get some clips when its dry!! lol

Dunno about GTI, but I'm down for a show on 23/24th June... Bromley Car pageant... I think.. lol
