Pioneer HU/iPod adaptor advice

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has fitted the latest Pioneer CD-IB100II adaptor for their iPod? I've just purchased the unit for my Pioneer DEH-P7000UB H/U, but i'm struggling for room behind the H/U with all the ISO connectors etc. Has anyone had this same problem?

Today the Pioneer DEH-P7000UB HU stopped working and it seems a component blew inside the unit. I'll have to reconsider where i go next with this one as all my confidence in Pioneer stuff has gone due to this being the 3rd time i've had problems with Pioneer.

Hiya mate,

I've been using Pioneer for the last 3 years and im IMO its one of the best, however, i dont know whats gone wrong there.

I've been using many pioneer HU's and the last one i had which i still have, has been just over 1yr and 7 months, the Pioneer 55BT.

I was using this with the ipod adaptor IB100 I, in my ibiza i took the cables, from the back of the unit, and forwarded them through the das to the glove box, and put the adaptor in there.

I currently have a JVC unit with a similar adaptor and i have done the same.


I'm currently runinng 4 pioneer Subs, Boot build, at 5,000Wrms.

I can give you advice if you'd like help installing the adaptor.

I chopped the "box" underneath the stereo in half, put a load of black tape around the end of it and refitted it. That gave enough room for the million plugs that come out of my Kenwood Z838W and iPod adaptor. The iPod ECU thing sits on top of the climate control and the iPod plug goes to my secret location

I think the quality of all the big brands has gone downhill, my old Clarion was replaced twice and died at 13 months old, I've had countless Kenwoods die on me and my mates 2 year old Alpine died the other day.

I was thinking about doing the same with that "box" coz there just isn't enough room behind the stereo. I iPod adaptor should hopefully arrive today and i'll give another Pioneer HU one more chance to see if it'll do the job. Do any of you guys know if i'll have to remove the door cards to get to the speakers in the front doors? Just thought about upgrading them but i'm sure i heard someone say you have to take the cards out?
