Thinking of getting a cat back exhaust very soon for my cupra. Been looking at the pipers as I've heard a few good reviews on these but looking on the website it says they come with 0-2 silencers. Am I wrong in thinking that a catback exhaust with 0 silencers is just going to be a straight pipe (no backbox)? It's pretty cheap at £249 + vat but add a silencer and it goes up to over £400 :(

Yeah Piper are good normally. But looking on there site the exhaust for £249 does that even have a back box or just straight pipe?

2 silencers (backbox and centre silencer)- £434
1 silencer (backbox only) - £357
0 silencers (no silencers at all) - £208

(+VAT)

frankly you get what you pay for, yes Piper is slightly more expensive but they are the best systems on the market, the quality of the system is far better than milltek when you look at the 2 side by side, the turbo backs have got wider bore downpipes, and the sound is better, obviously time will tell how they last but since you get a lifetime guarentee with Piper rather than the 2yrs years you get with Milltek frankly, it was a no brainer.

My friend has the piper catback with zero silencers and it has been faultless so far.
It was nicely made and sounds good when giving it some

This is definitely news to me, thought the millteks were lifetime too don't know why. I think because millteks are so well known across the vag scene that people forget about the other manufacturers that are about including myself. After what you just said about the bore size and quality I would choose the piper over a milltek for certain but unfortunately my wallet will not allow it.

What does the tailpipe look like? Is it hollow like a blueflame or slightly hollow like a miltek because the photos I've seen the back box has baffles?

i was reffering to the full turbo back system (i should really sense check what i type ) Milltek will give you lifetime against corrosion and anti corrosion on the cat back part), but only 2years against the downpipe for the same thing, Piper warranty the whole system for lifetime

Totally agree with Phil. Piper exhausts are designed/tested on all the correct gear/instrumentation with proven gains and their build is awesome. Powerflow are a cobbled together solution by a bloke in a franchise, can't exactly see them getting it spot on tbh. As I've said before, I have a Milltek and that was only due to it being the only real option at the time. Always had Piper on my previous cars and they have been awesome.

My friend has a piper on his cupra and it sounds good. Burbles quite a bit too. I hav a milltek and told him to go for the piper and he loves it ;)
