how far out was the piston?they are a pig to get back in if they are at full extension.
My brother broke my old calliper wind back tool doing his octavia rears.
took the bugger off and put in a vice in the end.

It wasnt that far out. there was still a fair wee bit on the pads but the discs where goosed. I tried getting a set of grips around the barrel but it wont budge. Even tried it with a torque wrench and grips. Maybe it would help if i had another pair of hands! lol

right, the caliper is off. But im still no further forward removing the tool. It is jammed solid. The only thing i can think about doing is cuttin the tension plate and knocking it away. Then the tool should just fall out. Problem is. If its the piston thats seized i could be in a whole lot of bother!

Phew right. Got the tool off and the caliper back on. However, i cant get any fluid pumping through the caliper! Its been drained because it was disconnected. Is there a certain way i need to do it? Using a one man bleed kit from halfords. Came back in just now because of the weather but connected a pipe dropping down into a tub to see if gravity will do its work
