Seen a few videos of this being used on youtube.. looks pretty cool stuff. My understanding is its a rubber spray on paint that forms 1 rubberish layer that looks like paint but can be peeled off at anytime leaving no residue or marks on the surface its applied to...

Anyone used it? If so what have you plasti Dipped?? Ive seen people do a set of wheels before, came out really well, although not sure how well it would last but then the plus point is that it simply peels off if you dont like it...

There's a guy who did an MGF in this stuff, good finish and cheap too considering.
Google Plastidip MGF, the threads on detailing world.

That's come out really well! I wonder how it would stand up to the dirt/brake dust on the wheels

Any pics of peoples attempts Id be interested in seeing the finishes different people can acheive! Im going to grab myself a tin or 2 and give it a whirl on a few bits, may try the spare wheel initially to see how it comes out to see whether I want black wheels on a red LCR or not!

I think thats the beauty of this product in that if it does look gash then its just a matter of peeling it off again, no harm done! Kind of like a precursor to painting stuff to see if you like the colour or not without forking out on expensive powdercoating/paint.

If I remember correctly, SEAT already use it for some internal components. Certainly my grab handles had the rubber coating on it.

It's more of a 'feel' than a 'look' thing, so great for internal parts but as Leechy said it would be no good for external panels. It's not very strong though, nowhere near as strong as paint or powdercoat. A thumbnail was all I needed to remove it from my grab handles.

Ive seen the "Glossifier" on a few youtube videos... think you could get the same uniform shine over all 4 wheels?
