Had to ease them up at the back as they were spraying to high, so might change them for something else...............

"Those Porsche brakes look wicked peeking through. She looks very smart mate good work."

Yeah cheers, did look at the Cupra R Brembos but these were much cheaper and every bit as good ;)

"great thread - really liking the things you've done to her. No wonder she's your pride and joy!"

Cheers mate, yeah like to keep the mods simple & discreet and after 8 years she is still like new - puts a big smile on my face still :)

Managed to acquire a Golf GTI MkIV centre sun visor for a couple of quid from a scrappy and it took longer to clean it than fit it !!!!!!!!!!!
I followed the guide by M20FES and it fitted a treat, although I didn't drill holes I just poked a small flat tip screwdriver up through the headlining :)
Visor retracted:

Did you have to attach a bit of wood to the roof above the headlining to screw to?

Yeah mate, had a bit of 10mm thick and cut to length of 50mm
Used a wee bit of double sides sticky tape on one side to keep it in position while I screwed the visor in place

I see. I've cut the holes in the roof lining then noticed there's nowhere to screw the visor to so got holes in my roof lining at the moment. Will get some wood. Cheers mate

Won a Mk2 Leon FR gear knob on 'the Bay' so decided to fit it this morning.
Here's how I went about it (just in case anyone wants to do the same!):

1caaaba2-2aaa-4b2b-a761-8c91bfe1356b_zps1a7f1d15.jpg

Remove old gear knob gaiter assembly by pushing forward on the back of the gaiter base then lifting it up. Pull the gaiter over the gear knob & cut off the metal clip - this is a one use only clip.

Pull the gear knob off the gear stick and remove to a more comfy location ;)

image_zpsc5405669.jpg

Pull gear knob inside out to reveal a plastic retaining clip, unclip this and pull out old gear knob.

Push new gear knob through gaiter, I secured it to the gaiter with a tie-wrap due to an angle on the base of the gear knob which would not allow the plastic retaining clip to fit.
Push the gear knob/gaiter onto the gears stick making sure it's lined up, I secured it with a small jubilee clip.

Push the gaiter base front into location (2 lugs fit into 2 slots) then press the back down into place.
Job done :funk:

Awright mate, I will get a few pics up when I get back home but you'll have to wait a fortnight :(
Safe to safe it sits with about an inch gap between the arches and tyres ;)

im a very busy man haha. youve probs been asked before but what drop did you go for with your springs? might treat myself :)

I went for Eibach Sportlines which dropped about 30mm front/40mm rear, I'm gonna take a couple of pics with a ruler at the wheel arch to show the gap (still running standard shocks:) )

It;s weird that you say about sportline springs(dropped about 30mm front/40mm rear)because the cars look not to well lowered more on the rear, maybe you did a mistake...I know that springs dropped 50 mm front/30mm rear.
