Hi

Had my MY16 since last November and listen to my music from an SD card. This is generally all fine but one thing about playback puzzles me and I wonder if anyone else experiences the same or can offer any advice....

If I choose to play all tracks on mix mode (for example) this works perfectly well, but on a seemingly random basis the next time I start the car music will start from the first artist in my collection (happens to be 10000 Maniacs - guess this is first alphabetically). Sometimes I can stop, lock the car and come back and it will be fine, others it's back to track one - without any real pattern that I can discern.

Not a big deal obviously!

Thanks in advance for any help.

I get this, just seems to sometimes "forget" it was in shuffle mode and I have to go through menu to select all tracks /shuffle again.

Damn irritating!

I keep hoping for a software update to fix it, but no sign of one yet (had it 18 months now).

We haven't tried this out yet although I thought it would be faster scrolling through music than having a paired phone. However, bluetoothing music to the car works great. Get in the car and it pairs automatically and you don't even have to do anything, it just plays your music.

Ok - that's good - not just me!

Thanks - yes use BT sometimes and I agree it works well - just a bit limited by the memory of my phone - 40 odd GB of music won't squeeze on there

Thanks both of you for the quick replies

Never had this with my SD card and always listen in random all tracks mode. Starts where it finished when I last drove the car every time.

DaFoot - I think I have sussed why this was happening. I tried choosing music from 'albums' rather than 'tracks'; set it playing and then chose 'mix'. Did this about 3 or 4 days ago and so far has always come back to what was playing last time car was turned off.

I won't get too cocky too soon, but thought this might be worth a try for you as well.

Cheers

Had this happen today.... first time it has happened, car is just 3 months old with just over 5000 on the clock(not that it matters) and never happened in the my13 se I had previously....

When I put music onto my sd card by drag and drop, in windows, is it better

to keep the music in albums ( directories ), or just lump them all in one big list ?

I did have a thought it may be related to how files are organised on the disc.

Keep meaning to try loading it without folders to see if that stops it.

My files are in Folders for each album and those are in Folders foe each artist(or various or movie sound tracks)
