i have an oil temp gauge and the last 3-4 days i have noticed the temp climbs quicker than usual and reaches higher temps... was about 90/100 now pushing 120. first thought was dodgy sender. the temp comes down slowly when idling but soon climbs once on the move.
tonight i drove a bit more spritedly
and suddenly the water temp hits 120! alarm beeping. pulled over and it dropped slowly back to 90. fine after that until i got sprited again 
then back up to 120.
popped the bonnet and both fans i could see were happily purring away.
havnt run vagcom yet but i thinking from searches that its the impellor and or pump?
will i need to get a brass impellor myself for seat to fit? anyone have a part number? cost? supplier?
