Hi all

Been planning to mop my car, and got a new machine polisher through today that i ordered, a kestral for 75 pound. My friend said it had got good reviews, so i ordered. Got back from work today and found it had been delivered, but when i tried it out it seemed very powerfull, the lowest setting is 2500 rpm, which seemed still very powerfull, i have machine polished motorhomes many a time being a valeter, but ive never really done a car so this wud be my first time.

Would 2500rpm be ok to mop my Seat Leon Cupra r, id be using a very soft foam pad for the job, is this is ok?? or am i getting abit worried seeing tho its my first time lol.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers all

Is it a rotary or a DA? There's a difference is how they work, but still at 2500rpm that is too quick for a starting speed. Whats the exact model or can you link to it?

The 2500 is opm not rpm... this is osilations (sp?) per minute and is measured differently.

Basically because a DA doesnt just spin on a single axis, it spins the head but osilates rounds the affect of the head in action is different from a rotary which will concentrate its energy in a single point.

2500 is higher than other DA machines though but on speed 1 (lowest setting) this should be fine for applying / spreading the polish and then speed 4-5 for working it.

Have a look at this guide for more info on techniques etc.
