'Pollution' light on dash, orange, not flashing on Cupra 180

Hi guys, it's been a while as the car has been running sweet and passed it's MOT last month, no work required!

Anyway on the way home from dropping the kids off I had a light on the dash appear. It's happened a few times now, usually goes away if I turn it off and on but not this time. It's light 13 according to the manual which usually indicates a 'pollution issue' but the manual says if it's flashing. This wasn't it was just steady orange and refused to go away. Any ideas? Emissions were fine and I gave it a run through the 'Italian tune up' a couple of times but it resolutely stayed on. Car seemed to drive the same, no issues at all. Any ideas what it could be? I was just getting used ot the idea of something reliable and that doesn;t need something done every other month!

Ahh OK have done a search and it seems I need to VAGCOM it. Might pop to my Parents this week as they have a windows XP laptop I've used before. Hopefully just a dodgy sensor but the thermostat hasn't been behaving recently. It's staying open too long as when i do a high speed run the temperature needle can drop down to 70'C

You need the thermostat changing for starters.

Yeah that light means you have a fault code that needs reading and dealing with.
If you have an android based smartphone then you can buy an app called "torque" for a few of quid and a wireless bluetooth adaptor from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V1-5-ELM3...iagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item53fc787f0b for £7, then you can read all the engine fault codes and reset the light, as well as having loads of other cool features like being able to read all the live data from the engine( boost, fueling, temp etc etc etc) Be the best £10 you ever spent.
