my garret 130 turbo was mapped and made the fire engine siren noise for 20k miles and it had a proper hard life, no shaft play was taken apart and it was totally fine and that was running 1.6bar boost lol
i think luck plays a big part

The grand and a bit I was going to spend on a turbo is now going towards a proper trackday car.

The Ibiza has been utterly reliable as a daily drive, and track warrior, but I wish for something possibly a little quicker, and alot lighter.

Mapped then.
Just been out in mine and clocked using 2nd and 3rd between 30 and 70 on the speedo 5.4seconds! about 2 saeconds quicker that when it was standard. My shaft snapped at 133k which was 20k after the map.

Bit of an update, its taken the garage 2 weeks to fit the new turbo, now they saying its popping off intake pipes due to oil in the intercooler and exhaust! doesn't look like i'm getting it back anytime soon

Really starting to doubt there abilities

Amount of money its cost me in recovery and fuel in my other car the last 2 weeks i could have bought a turbo and done it myself.
