Hi people im new to the turbo world, ive always loved LCR's and now i thinking of getting one...but my stupid question is,im after a vicious power delivery..been hearing alot that they will always be a smooth power delivery..im after that (push back in the chair)feeling i no u wont get that from standard but aroung the 270bhp ?? will you ....thanks:) i hope i get postive feedback as i really like the LCR's

You will never get an insane shove in the back from any stock turbo hatch, not late ones anyway. Modern cars are designed to be smoother and more refined so if you're looking for that big boost, you're either going to have to modify or buy something that's supposed to be racey like the EVO FQ's or STi's.

However, you can get LCRs remapped and depending on the company, some can give you that kick you sound like your after. Remaps like Custom Code are designed to be smoother but others like AMD & REVO are more extreme. It's hard to explain really, you need to try a remapped LCR for yourself, when you do, you'll be buying one though :D

The only way to change the delivery is really in the mapping. I'd suggest comparing torque graph printouts from P-Torque, Revo and AmD. The more torque at low revs, the more you'll feel it.

I remember hearing about some maps being very harsh and aggressive that actually put the car into limp mode
Just something to think about

Get that kind whack you in the back remap and you're definately going to need other mods as diverter valve, clutch, dog bone mount and suspension tweaks to get the power onto the road.

Cost these in before making that commitment (but it'll be worth it!).

Agree - worth getting a forge dv and cotton air filter as part of the stage 1 upgrade.

Also putting on the best tyres you can afford (such as GY Eagle F1 Asymmetrics) and a stiffer dbm (INA, THS) will help with traction a lot.

I'm now also changing the TIP for peace of mind...

In fact I'm not going to be that far away from a stage 2 spec at this rate (just exhaust and FMIC missing), but then I'd probably rather get ARBs, uprated suspension and 2-piece discs before that. Sorry, I digress!

OR......

You could but a diesel cupra/ fr and remap it. That'll definately give you a torque shove (although it doesn't last too long).

To the LCR owners.....sorry I couldn't resist.

my lcr throws you back its 285bhp turbo kicks in at 3k and hits 1.5bar at 4k and holds it till the redline

No apology needed, I'd completely agree there.

For a feeling of acceleration modern turbo diesels are great and it is what many people crave for. On the other side of the coin a normally aspirated engine such as in the civic type-r feels very slow due to the very linear power curve.

The thing is there's a difference between what feels fast and what is actually fast...

^^ totally agree. I've come from an RX8 to an LCR 225 and the Rex feels SO slow it's unbearable......but then you look at the speedo and realise you're doing 46mph in 1st!!

The LCR certainly gives me a big shove and it's standard. But that may because, before the LCR, i'd never owned a turbo car.
