True but wrong one cud have been put in to start with I have only just brought it an it looks green but my mk4 golf same engine takes red just don't want it to cause a problem
I can tell you with reasonable confidence that it's green. I can tell you this as my driveway is green at the moment thanks to a steering rack failure!
The halfrauds central transmission/steering fluid is green also and is stated to be directly compatible.
Going back a few years ago I had a mk4 Golf that had a new rack not long before I bought it, seals went a while after and was told at the time it was due to the wrong fluid (red).
For that reason I've never ran anything other than the oem green.
