Power supply relay for ecu???

could anyone tell me where this relay is???

ive checked behind the fuse box in the drivers side cubby hole thingy.

the reason i ask is, my car wont start and i ran vagcome and got this error :

17925 - Power Supply Relay for ECU (J271 or J363): Electrical Malfunction
P1517 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

just cant seam to find the relay. should i be looking for a relay that says J271 or J363 on it???

Did you ever find J271 - im having some problems with my Ibiza - and VAGCOM is pointing towards that.

Its one of the relays in the panel hiding near the VAG COM port. My particular issue, ended up being rather costly, as it was a dry break in the main wiring loom, took the garage about a week to locate it and replace the faulty wire.

There were a couple of things they tried before getting down to the wiring loom, including replacing the relay, I think its the gray one (sorry if there are more than just one gray relays in there, traded my Ibiza in for a Mk3 Leon a few months back)

Following that, we cleaned the contacts on the ECU, pull it out of the cradle under the bonnet top right hand corner, pull the two clips off either end and give it a forceful tug. Some electrical contact cleaner was quite useful here.

Hopefully one of these will help you, and you dont have to get to the point of testing the main wiring loom. I had to wait until the car wouldn't start at all to get anything sensible out of the garage, I guess its hard to diagnose an intermittent fault.

Thanks for the info, the car starts but when driving along and you go to accelerate the doesn't go, take it out of gear then back into gear and it will the go, it's all very intermittent

Can anyone tell me what relays 167 and 429 control as I'm being led to believe I need to change relay 429 to solve my problem ?

A neighbour has the same fault code on their ibiza
