pressure washing the engine bay

was going to try clean up the engine bay over the weekend
how does everyone go about this
was thinking of using a pressure washer. would this be safe enough? (would i need to cover any electrics?)

I've seen it done on a couple of classoc v8s. Lots of masking tape around electrics. It wont last long but works very well. Try to avoid the belts or better still cover with plastic bags.

The most important thing is run it to temp before u do it. And run it again afterwards for a good 15 min. Whilst ure waiting spray wd40 over it. Looks amazing afterwards.

ive a steam cleaner in the house so might give that a go
might keep the power hose as a last resort then

Id be very careful using any kind of wet system to clean a petrol, the electrics can easily be damaged.

If it were a diesel it should be fine but Im still a little wary about pressure washing my diesel because of all the sensors, ECU and electrickery under the bonnet. I pressure wash my diesel LandCruiser engine quite often and do it with it running but the only electronics that has is an alternator and the batteries, itll run underwater as long as the intake is above the water! lol
