Project 300 - Update 12/12/2005

April 2003. Tired of waiting for a Leon PD150, that the stealer promised within 2 months, I pick up the phone,
called another guy and 3 days after I was driving my brand new LCR.
Black with Recaro seats, just beeeeeeeeeautifull!!!!
At the time I didn’t had tuning on my mind. My previous car was an Ibiza PD 110 and with +100 HP, why mod it ? :D

Several months later the CD player started to malfunction and I swap it for a Clarion w/ CD changer (6 CDs).

A couple of years later, with warranty nearly finishing a new airfilter came into my mind.
After some research, BMC seemed the best so I ordered a CDA SP12.

Then I found seatcupra.net and the mod bug started to grow on me. Learned a lot about tuning, especially about the 1.8T.
Next, a Forge DV.

to replace the OE Bosch.

Together with the CDA I could ear the "woooshhyy” sound, but nothing like what was about to come.
Then the remap. Another research and REVO was chosen. Two words:
Bloooooooooooooody HEEEEEEEEELLLLL !!!
With the trial only 4th, 5th and 6th gears were more aggressive. All the torque came @ 3K rpms and holded till 5K,
time when the K04 runs out of “puff”.
World class service performed by Paulo (aka PRC) excellent professional, top man and made a good friend.
Now when I put my foot down that BMC screamed like there’s no tomorrow
and the "woooshhy" sound was louder.
Did some stupid things @ Drag Racing Show Estoril (drag racing) and ended up f*cking up the clutch and flywheel,
and had to change it.
Sachs Race Engineering had some nice clutchs and I kept the OE flywheel.
With a family to feed, the mod bug had to relax but not that much. To keep it happy
changed the gear knob to a Seat Sport one cause the OE one teared a part,

and got a red OMP upper strut bar,

painted in black afterwards with the Seat Sport logo, great work performed by some friends.
Also a Autometer boost gauge,

Nomad pillar

and a Samco TIP

but in black, and a EIP tuning SS

everything still uninstalled.
First I though about a Milltek exhaust but I made my mind after I saw the BlueFlame GB.
3“ Downpipe,

200 cel racecat,

center section

and back box with oval tip all 2.75”.

Only HALF the price compared with Milltek
4 bar FPR

and REVO stg 2 on it’s way.
For piece of mind, got some VF-Engineering engine mounts.

To better cool the intake ordered this from Bill:

and some disks too.

Ferodo Racing 5.1 for the brakes along with Ferodo DS2500 brake pads. :D
On the outside there’s not much to do. The LCR has a nice OE bodykit and I only changed the rear wiper (Skoda Fabia).
Also some black angel eyes have arrived.

The car was debagged and the wheels had their colour darkened.

A friend did the detailing work. More pics here .
In the near future I’m taking care of the handling section (coilovers and a diff) and also a FMIC before summer time.

It was fitted and then removed to paint it black.
The only mod was the holes that needed to be drilled on the suspencion towers.
The upper strut went nice and neat.
No part number I'm affraid.

Love that strut brace, where did you get the Seat sport sticker please? Oh and how did you find the motor mounts I have the dogbone bushes and always wondered about the others is the vibration ok, do the extra ones make a worthwhile addition? Good lookin car tho!!!!

lol - thanks. Not hijacking thread here, last post on the subject - but personally i cant see any real difference between the bushes and the whole mount.... as for other mounts i have no idea.

The other mounts are just for extra safety. A tuned engine revs a bit harder but I think the OE mounts will hold. It's just for piece of mind. I prefer stronger mounts.
The seat sport logo was taken from a regular jpg from internet and done in vinil with the help of a special ploter.

Last update - Blueflame exhast went last Friday, along with the engine mounts, 4 bar FPR and Turbo TIP.
The rooaar is very nice, racing like, but not too loud (still no complaints from nebs, so must be ok :D ), only lound when pushing it hard after 2.5 K rpms.
Much more responsive all across the range.
REVO stg 2, grooved disks, AP brake fluid, Goodridge brake hoses, DS 2500 pads, and
some other bits are to be done this week, so I'm waiting with baked breath for the final results.

Each 180$ plus postage (90$ to Portugal) and some extra €€€ @ customs :(

I think they just lifted the engine enough to get out the old mounts and put in the new ones.

Not that much apparently.
But it does make a huge difference really.
Engine is a lot more steady, traction has increased a bit, wheel hop is
almost gone.
The cost is a small loss in confort, due to the extra vibration.

Broke the moneypig again and did some more mods:

- Compomotive MO 8x18" wheels and Eagle F1 tyres
- Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers
- Oil catch tank
- FMIC by XO2 Racing
- Defi gauges (boost and oil press)
- Tinted windows
- Darker tailights

Still no pics of the gauges, FMIC and oil catch tank. Later, I hope.

Yesterday did my first track day, but had to leave after the third lap, as the car was overheating. :(

Must get an oil cooler.
