At the end of the day this isn't a performance car. If it was I'd go for a tuned 20vt. But this car needs an engine that sounds as good as the car looks

I never chuck anything out mate ( which is why I can hardly get in my shed )

I'll see how far out I want to space the front wheels once I have some. If they need spacing far enough I'll just use the golf bits instead

No onto the search for the PAS pipes and I think I might need a new loom too

If you use the golf bits you will need the rack, the front hubs, brakes etc etc etc

I'm going to use the hubs and brakes anyway mate to go 5 stud The only thing I don't have is the rack which I'll need to source if I go that way.

You can 'just' change the tie rods to those from a 16V GT Passat (pas car) - about £20 apiece for GSF - I say 'just' as its a bitch of a job, the rack has to come out of the car and when I did mine a 6ft monkey wrench was needed - I think they are threadlocked at the factory with something VERY strong
