Emissions Recall Confusion

Had a look around online but couldn't find anything black and white so thought I'd ask, see if anyone has any insider knowledge.

We all know about VWAG 'dieselgate' about 10 or so years ago, and there was a whole recall scheme started to remove the 'emissions cheating' part of ECU firmware.

My question is, did this ever affect the 184HP EA288 2.0 Euro 6b diesel/was there ever a recall for this engine for emissions reasons?

Reason I ask is that my car is in today for a recall but the dealer initially said it was an update to the gearbox ECU. When I took it in, they asked me explicity if the engine had been remapped. I said no, but as I walked away I realised, why are you asking me that...? That would imply that the recall is gonna wipe the <engine> ECU... why...

Answered my own question i think - from what I'm reading on various other forums, none of the factory Euro 6 engines (2016ish onwards) are affected and have no emissions based recalls.
