HI to all, was thinking the other day:think:, wouldnt it be something different to build a Leon Cupra R32. i mean u cud just get any old mark 1 leon n put a cupra r body kit on it and put an R32 engine under the hood? obviously chassis, gear box n suspension mods needed, but it wud be different. Cud go a stage further n turbo or bi-turbo that:D????? has any1 ever heard or attemted this?? i was thinking the engine wud just plonk in as they r all related, (R32, 4Motion V6, 1.8 20V Turbo, Cupra 4)??? any views welcome, my give it a go 1 day?

like you've said mate, i'd be tempted to do it on an older leon and put the LCR kit on it. but, with the work involved i'd probably not go for the full monty 4WD R32 conversion and keep it FWD.......................... it would be a very cool project and it would sound amazing!!

yea i do agree 4 the money spent u cud get ur hands on sum other form of motor, just thought that it wud b kool 2 pull up at cruises wiv da LCR badge on the back with the 32 at the end, wud turn a few heads.[B)]

You be better fitting LCR panels to a R32 chassis, less work trying to figure out the 4 WD system on the Leon/MK4 Golf chassis

With a 2wd VR 'box it shouldn't be too big a job for someone who knows what they are doing (see polo project in sig for what a mad man and a welder can do), a 4wd option is a big job though as the rear end is quite different.

or even better, stick a lcr lump or s3 lump in a r32 chassis, you got 4wd then :)

In denmark we have the Leon V6 210 hp with 4wd... very much similar what you are trying to biuld...

I may be wrong (the Leon isn't my area) but I don't think we got any in the UK. But a LHD to RHD conversion may be easier than a 4wd conversion on a RHD car.

It's been discussed many times this. The general consensus is that neither option's good, but a LHD to RHD conversion would probably be easier than a 2WD to 4WD one

Personal Imports only

There are a few about

As you say LHD

A RHD conversion plus a supercharger or Turbo charger would be 'interesting' and 4 wd to tame the beast would make a nice car ;)

Ruddmeister, yeah, I've been thinking about the same, a supercharger could be very cool )

I denmark there is a LEon V6 with 80.000 km on the clock on sale for 20.000 pund.

But without taxes it's much cheaper....somewhere around 180%... (yes it's ****ed up)

There were some video's on youtube of a turbo Cupra4 2.8 V6 playing with Porsche's etc.........looked like a fun car

But in the long term, learning to type properly would be my goal. :)

I say go for the conversion, it would be interesting to see.

i didnt think my typing was i mean is such an important matter on a car forum webb page! still, thanks for all the input, i will improve my typing, its just when u have a computer that crashes more times than a day than the average annual car crashes, u have gota put everything in rude boy.

Iv seen the cupra4 v6 supercharged on youtube, sounds amazin with that whining sound.

I am not sure, but isnt the R32 (Mk4) engine some sort of upgrade to the LEON 2.8 V6 ?

i think so. the VR6 lump in the euro leon is the same 24 valve engine as the golf 4motion rather than the earlier 12 valve found in the mk3 golf/vento. i think the R32 lump is the same just with more capacity.
