Quickie - Green cotton or K&N

Just a quick question guys. Hoping to Replace filter over B/H and was wondering was there a difference in performance of these 2? You all seem to run a green cotton. Obviously I'm not expecting power gains, just a decent piece of kit.

I'm too impatient! Found thread via search (as I should have tried!) I'm ordering a green cotton at the mo, do I need the 'cleaning kit'?

Also on the green cotton site, the filter is listed as a 1.9 tdi cupra (160) 04> is this the right 1?

PD100, 130, 160 Ibiza's use the same filter size as far as I know.

So it should be fine

i have k&n and have been told they mess the math up because the are pre oiled so go for green cotton panel filter

That would be the MAF then

Some people rub the excess oil off before fitting

it doest really matter they are pretty much the same product, as stated K&N come heavily oiled as standard so wiping them clear avoids any complications with the MAF, however you will need to clean/oil your green cotton filter eventually anyway so it doesnt matter too much.

yes but when you come to clean your filter you will need to oil it, as with the green cotton filter.

They all have a small amount of oil pre-applied. But I dont think it makes a difference at all.
