HELP please guys..

The radio station icons are doing my head in.

I have a new Ateca (new in Dec 23) and I can't find the DAB station icons anywhere.

I've been to the VW site and put my radio part number in but it says part number not found and offers me nothing.

I really don't know what to do now, I've looked everywhere.

Any advice?

Thanks.

It's this answer:

It's an evolving situation but as my father use to say you won't get anything if you don't ask. You need to email Phonostar they have the contract for the logos. You can experiment to see whether Seat part 'SE' in place of 'SK' via that edit works if you are use to these things - in the meantime. That's assuming the unit is sitting and waiting for that upload kitted out for those commands in the firmware.

Basically to do it properly Phonostar need to release the radio logo's that work with Seat. It will be a common file they just haven't moved on to Seat yet to build the relevant macro in the load commands. That's Nag 1 in my terminology. Nag 2 is to get the missing logos in the database. In the meantime VW and Skoda users may be doing the heavy lifting for you and they are there, you just need the ability to update the logos. Once you do get the file read in officially or unofficially and missing ones you'd tell them about.

We seem to be getting somewhere but this is the fourth year of the release of mib3. Unlike mib2 VAG locked down logo import so you can't fill the missing gaps in yourself. Mib2 was open so you could add your own logos.

I'd be interested to know which version of the logos is coming over the air / if you can read of the release. Are they less than the release number in the link. If so they aren't being updated and it's the great wait for Phonostar to do it. Needs a campaign of Seat Mib3 owners.

I know I pinned it on the Leon 4 side, isn't a solution yet but we know what the solution is - just waiting for it, but needs parties to request it from Seat / Phonostar. I'll keep it pinned. Once the import is working then you need to go after them for any missing logos.

BTW What they found on the Skoda side was what I posted. You enter a VW part number it gives you the update for VW and Skoda... they just never announced it. We'd be happy with that if they added Seat into it. It's all core stuff it's just the firmware streams common input into the relevant firmware brand release. Common input being map data, radio logos etc. It's the logo side that is just missing on that import macro I reckon which they have done for Skoda now unless they released a firmware update to make it happen.

Hi Tell,

Thanks again.
I just replied on the other post.

The phonestar site doesn’t even recognise my info system part number.

It looks like a logo-less DAV radio, for now at least.

As I said on the other thread the Phonostar site delivers the extract for VW and Skoda but only accepts VW VINs. The VIN for Mib3 is:

3G5 035 820 Q

Now we need them to do the work for Seat. It's a case of the left hand not telling the right hand what it's doing in Vag and Phonostar their contractors.

The thread gives the key info

It's a case of Seat users progressing it like Skoda users did.

I think that’s what I need to start doing. Hassling them. (For want of a better word).

I’ve said more on the other thread.

But thank you again for your time and help.

Matt.
