i have recently fitted a 3" decat turbo back exhaust and blocked my front pcv valve off. i didnt notice at which point it started smoking. but if i drive the car and leave to idle sometimes itll start smoking. if i rev it itll cloud with whitey-blueish smoke then dissappear again ?? racking my brains to pinpoint it. half thinking of putting my old standard exhaust back on to see if this clears the matter up but i really dont want to as the new sound is sooo addictive lol but maybe the turbo needs back pressure for the seals not to weep or something i have no idea. if anyone has any ideas or experience of this feel free to comment.

Put the front pcv back on, with it deleted it forces the excess pressure through the rear pcv which goes straight into the turbo/exhaust.

Mine done the same with decat and pcv delete, recently refitted pcv and it's been fine since. It actually runs better with the latest revision pcv than it does with the delete on.

It was straight after I put the original pcv back on, had it back on for a week now and no issues with smoking on mine

ive done a bit of searching and apparently vxrs get smoke on idle with the early k04s due to oil pressure being too high and resort to a restrictor bolt.. was.thinking maybe mine is doing the same sort of thing but cant believe up until now im the only tfsi to have this lol .. has anyone tried this method ??

Hi mate, What oil do you use? Standard grade for ours is 5W/30 but was recommended by Niki at R-Tech to use milers nannodrive 5W/40 as they will run better and won't smoke as much on idle.

I've put the pcv back on, no difference, but car actually felt like it drove a little bit better but really don't want to do the exhaust unless I'm selling it as it was a pig to do with just a pair of little ramps. For some reason in my mind I'm almost positive it's the lack of back pressure like these Astros seem to do, but then they're reason is apparently due to oil pressure being up at around 80 psi, not got a clue what a tfsi produces It doesn't smoke at any other time than when I leave it to idle and after a couple minutes it'll just start. Car drives spot on with turbo boosting up as it should and sounds normal.

I know I should put the old exhaust back on and see if this fixes the issue but then I'll feel like I'm going backwards and will just sell it ahhhhh give me old pd lump anyday lol :(
