Rat Look Mk2's?

Hi Everyone

My Mk2's looking a little tatty so i've kinda had the idea to rat look it! Do you know of any ratty Mk2's and if so did they look ok or does it just look awful lol

I suppose its how its done that makes it a yey or ney but just wanted to know you're thoughts.

I'm in no way going OTT with it, i just want a subtle kinda rat look effect.

Any info/help with this would be awesome

Personally dont know of any, tbh, theres a few with slightly different colour panels due to colour matching issues, if anything theres bound to be some over on the continent
have a look on something like cleaned.be for some inspiration (assuming you can find any in there of course )

Yours is no where near bad enough for that mate, rat look should be a last resort to keep a motor on the road.

Now..... i thought rat look was rust body work, tatty bits and bobs but the shinest rims you can get.

you need a shiny engine bay, and a crapload of stickers as well.

roofrack with a chopper and an old beer keg looks the part aswell.

i seen a rat mk2 in Max Power rat edition, it was flame red with rusty bonnet, on G60's stretched white wall tyres and was decked. its lookd bloody stuning!!!!

just junk until you get to the 5th pic - then ya talking but the site gallery shows there's a few punto's that are walking a very fine line between 'patina' & 'barryboys' to be honest

i adore the idea always have especially the military and murdered out's etc but it seems it has just turned it into another 'scene style' where slapping a roof rack on and sticking junk on like a game of buckaroo and you're sorted, that and yoghurt ya bare metal bonnet all sorted in a weekend

i supoose after all it is just a modern 'style' twist but i'll stick to the original rod version thanks although there is an old bmw e28 i really like

mind you if mine stays still long enough it will grow it's own mushrooms on the bonnet

Ps- luv the Red Ibiza and always have done since i saw the first photos (link me if you have them) where it was all low clean and perfect bar that crazy bonnet and looked perfect in my eyes, all the plastic scene junk spoils it in my eyes

i have a soft spot for rat-hotrods

i really like a few, but like you i think it has become "scene" too
like at the time i seen a brand new mk5 golf gti, they ratted the bonnet and the "goatee" grill
look so crap

i like older cars when done properly, but some people just have taken it a bit to far

yeah i remember seeing that red one in its glory too!!

a car i really seem to look at and think "hmmmm, looks good" i don't know why???

i like the touch of blacking out the right rear light so much it looks like it's not even there!
