Getting a loud rattle at low revs when pulling off sound like it's coming fron the bottom front of the engine?

Is it some kind of wear on an air pump?

During cold starts, the valve on the back of the head starts to pulse while the secondary air pump moves fresh air into the head under pressure

on an Audi forum, any thing to do with this

Anyooooonnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeee :weedy:

Is it definately coming from the front? if not could be the baffle on the exhaust at the rear starting to die.

just a guess though

it sounds like a diseasel up to about 2500/3000 revs and goes away
and it's not just on cold starts, all the time

yep all seems normal power wise etc just this annoyingly loud rattle and it's definately from the front

wheres dave when you need him?

no fault lights on the dash? oil ok? air con working?

we need the clever bods to get out of bed!. with the noise dissapating over a certain rpm im wondering if engine movement maybe causing it... worn mounts? has this happened gradually or since this morning?

sorry im not much help:(

check fans are not loose... disconnect batt first as they could start up by themselves.
