Yes, I did solved my issue. Seat had no idea. The
problem was that my Seat Freetrack was not able to handle all my contacts in Iphone Phone book. The car seems not to be able to sync that many contacts that iPhone can have (I had over 260 contacts). Is there more contacts the mobile tracking connection/transfer will be abrupt during transfer (I could see on the dash panel how the car counted the contacts during import and then suddently stopped at 260 contacts). Also if there are several contact groups in the phone it can cause
problem when the car tries to sync the phone book.
NOTE that some phone apps also add their own contacts, like TrueCaller etc.
Solution:
Since the car (Seat Freetrack 2008) has no button to remove synchronized phones. I did this.
1. Turned off bluetooth on my iPhone.
2. Paired five other mobiles (the family's cell phones) to the car to have my iPhone forgotten in car memory (unsure if it helps to disconnect the battery to forgott the phones).
3. In my iPhone Phone Book I choosed to have just the most important contacts as "Favorites".
To do so go to: Settings > General > Bluetooth > Devices (choose SEAT_UHV) > Phone Favorites
ON (and of course Sync Contacts
ON to show favorite button)
ALSO on the same screen choose "Other Groups"
NONE (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT ELSE SEAT WILL TRY TO INSTALL ALL CONTACTS).
4. Started Bluetooth and sync to my Seat.
5. Choosed to just import my few favorites in the cars during install process -
NOT the whole phone book/all contacts - and it WORKED (and have done so all after).
PS The bluetooth unit are mounted under the front passenger seat.
PS 2 iPhone is NOT garanteed from Apple to work with other brands than their own. There is apps for this to use on jailbreaked iPhones (legal) but I don't think this is needed for sync with your Seat.
Hope this will be to any
help.
