Went to change the brake discs and pads all around this morning only to find I do not have the right size allen key to remove the rear calliper carrier. Is it a 7mm one and if so, where can you buy them as I can only find 6 or 8mm ones?
On the fronts, is it a case of popping off the plastic caps and using the same size allen key to remove the front callipers?

yes, halfords maybe or any local shop which supply car parts/tools. machine mart?

depends on what brake setup you have i dont know which car. brembo on the fronts are just a pin which needs to be knocked out with a small drift.

otherwise its an allen key or a similiar tool. which fits into a socket and ratchet like an allen key bit. m6 m7, m8 etc.

and the rears are normally a 13mm bolt on the caliper not sure about carrier bolts

It's a Leon cupra, I have the 312mm on the front and standards on the rear too.
So, is the 7mm one the only extra tool I need then? I have screw drivers etc for the locating screws and the correct spanners as I had taken the piston part of the caliper off, just not the main part which was holding the disk in place.

You'll need a piston retract tool aswell.
The bolts is 7mm and you'll need an allen key with a very short end as you've seen there not much room.
I managed to change mine without removing the caliper carriers, it's very very tight but can be done.
