The handbrake mechanism works by pushing the piston against the pad using a rod that goes up the middle.

When the handbrake is off, the same piston is pushed against the pads by the brake fluid, under pressure from the pedal and the vacuum servo. The handbrake rod is threaded, and the piston climbs up the thread a little bit every time the footbrake is operated, adjusting for pad wear.

The rods are threaded the same way on each side. There is no need to make them opposite threads, as the thread is just a spiral ramp used for self-adjusting, and not to activate the handbrake.

Just fitted them, takes 5minutes if that. Helps the calliper arm release fully. Thanks for the parts numbers dude ;)
