again another problem, didnt have this many with my old mk3 golf :(!
my rear door is locked in place, and wont open, ive taken the door card and plate off and tried releasing it by hand and still nothing, the only two ways I can think of getting it off is 1 to rip the motor out and replace it with a new one without damaging the door which maybe hard or 2 going at it from the wheel arch, which will mean grinding a hole then drilling the bolts out that secure the stricking plate, which I really don't want to do.
does anybody know of an easier way of getting the motor out?

there is a small hole in bottom of door lock which a length of welding wire/coathanger can be inserted and this operates the catch pawl and releases the door
cant remember the exact posistion and it is a bugger to get to but saves damage
if you have a new part you will be able to see/locate

im gonna try and get a new motor this morning and ill give that a try, thanks :)
