Hi boys. Just hovered my Leon cupra. The rear footwell behind drivers seat is soaking. A can feel the water sloshing under the carpet. Any ideas would be great. Thanks lads.

Another winter and the leaking leon threads start again.

One word of warning, get it sorted sooner rather than later as your airbag sensors are under the seats and if they get wet then you have a much bigger problem.

The few places they normally leak from have been mentioned.

1) Door seals (fixed with butyl strip which you can find on ebay)
2) Seal around plastic box under the wipers (scuttle pannel, driver side)
3) Pollen filter (passenger side of scuttle pannel) can become unseated and leak water.

There are plenty of threads if you use the forum search. It is also a sticky thread. Look in the FAQ section as well.

4) the bonnet release cable, water can trickle through the grommet under the scuttle.

Lee makes a good point but I would think you would have damp front footwells aswell. Definitly do it sooner than later as if it gets really bad you will need to take out undertray which holds the water like a sponge and dry it for a couple of days.

Agreed, for some reason i never even thought about the front being wet when mine leaked, and i had rubber mats down so it never seeped through, but it was under the front like yo say :)
