Hi Everyone I have recently took delivery of a Cupra Leon VZ2 and after 1 week the lens is starting to crack.
Is this a common issue and will they replace under warranty? Hopefully they will as I do t want to go down the route of rejecting the car.
Thank you in advance

Welcome to SCN, I have had my VZ2 for nearly 4 years and mine is fine, but maybe the later cars are subject to this fault as a few on here have had that exact same problem.

Hi Seastormer Many thanks for the reply and welcome 😊 I did aGoogle search and it appears a few dealerships are refusing to do it under warranty. I won’t know until Monday so if they refuse to do it then sadly the car will be rejected. This has happened and I have only done 200 miles from brand new

I've seen these polycarbonate plastic lenses crack, split and burst on a few VWG models now.

It's never been an issue with warranty unless there's an obvious external cause.

I bet if you do reject it there'll be a sudden u-turn.

Well believe it or not I couldn’t get a appt until May 7th for a main dealer to look at it under warranty. Another thing they need it for a whole day to look at the lens in detail. Will let u all know the outcome 👍

That whole day is how many garages work if not all. Check in, in the morning and checkout from 4pm or so. We'll phone you... often they dont. So you hassle for, is it done... How the service desk manage their work and billing in the afternoon. If you know what to expect then you can plan around it. Sometimes they will have a quick look but a whole day feels like they might be fixing it with any luck. Expect its tension / pressure in the way it was fabricated.

As an aside had a whole indoor double glazing window go once. Spectacular. bang and continued shattering for an hour or so. That was an expansion gap that is suppose to be in the frame if mounted in wood. The double glazing fabricated pane gets pinched and shatters. Semi conservation area plastic window frames were banned on new builds to keep in character. Down side of wood it expands and contracts. When you get panes made up you take a bit off the dimensions for movement.

Hi Tell, many thanks I thought they was fobbing me off, off to collect car in a mo after a full Ceramic Coating so will post some pics later
