This week both my rear side lights went out in the space of 48hrs so I got new ones today.

Near side dead easy, undo the 2 torx on the outside just next to the boot seal, pop the internal side panel off, remove cable, unscrew white plastic cap/screw thing and pop out the whole light unit.

Offside different story, I cannot get the internal white plastic cap/screw thing to undo. It feels like its just spinning :(

Any ideas ?

It sounds like it's either stripped the threads in which case you need to pull it out instead of unscrewing it. Or the threads have broken off inside, in which case you'll probably have to cut it off and replace it.

All fixed now :)
Took into my local SEAT garage (Warrington) and they sorted it whilst I waited. Apparently it had been overtightened by the previous owner.
All sorted now for the pricely sum of £1.86

Thats good of them, its normally £50+ just to walk through their doors! :)

I've found that for very little things most garages are quite helpful, for example I've had the rubbers replaced on my windscreen wipers on my MR2 and it cost 6 quid - much cheaper than buying a set from anywhere
