Rear Lights - Which Bulbs?

Hi again,

How many lights should I have showing at the back of the car when all the lights are turned on? Without turning the fog or reverse light on, and indicators, when I'm looking at it there are only three lit up? The very left and very right ones are red (assuming sidelights) and then there is one more red one but it doesn't have a matching one on the other side? If my fail of a description makes any sense? And which bulbs do they take, H4 or H3?

There should be four lad, the ones on the boot hatch are tricky to find, go to a motor factors or electronics shop, not that big orange car shop chain if you know which one I'm on about ;)

Epic fail on my part. Bought the wrong bulb. Or at least I thought I bought the correct bulb but it seems to have a very slightly different bottom and so it won't turn and secure when placed in the unit.

This is going to come across as if I'm a complete retard... and it wouldn't be that wrong in this instance but would you mind telling me which lights are which?

The very left is a sidelight or running light, but ALSO acts as the brake light when I put the brakes on right? The next one in is also a running light (is it called a tail light?) and doesn't also operate as a brake light, and then finally the third is obviously only the reverse light. That's right? So the only one that is also a brake light is the very left one (on the passenger side)?

With the drivers side, the very right is a running light and brake light? Then the one that isn't working is just another running light with no other purpose? And finally the very left one is only a fog light?

The bulb I bought has this connection:

And the bulb I took out has this connection:

I'm really sorry for asking what I can definitely understand are very possibly obvious questions, but I'm just not getting it.

The passenger side as you describe is correct, the missing bulb on drivers side is just a taillight like the passenger side.

The first bulb you have pictured is for the brake and taillight as it has two filaments. The second bulb is correct as it only has one filament.
