Rear passenger door not locking with fob or key. The indicators are not flashing when all the other doors lock although the alarm does set. Have given it a spray of wd40, no joy though. Is this the module or lock mech. Any ideas?

indicators not flashing is to highlight that something has not been closed / locked.
this is usually the microswitch in the lock mechanism which is what is used to indciate if the door is open or closed. ie for interior lights etc. but this wont stop the door locking.

so it appear a little more serious than a micro switch.

Yeah kind of what i was thinking.. Just checked and i can't hear the motor in the lock either when trying to lock. Does this help narrow it down? Is it the motor thats done or is there a connection i could check?

Lee, i will give it a go and see. Believe it or not i have never done a battery reset on the cupra..lol. Disconnected the battery on my old mk3 golf loads. What is the correct procedure?

Remove both the neg and positive from the battery join them together (this drains all components of power) reconnect them back to the battery and try.

Well door card off, had a go at pushing and pulling the rod that connects to the lock mech a few times. As i could hear it operating the lock, i closed the door and tried the fob...it worked.. Well 7 out of 10 times..lol. I think something is sticking causing the rod not to move. Or it is yet another module on its way out. At least it is locked now. This buys me some time. I will let u guys know what happens next. Cheers.

Ok, problem has returned..sort off. When i press the fob once to lock the door, no flashing lights but if i press it twice the lights flash. Deadlock issue? When i then press the fob 2times to open all doors the problem door won't open from the outside. Although it does from the inside. Any thoughts?

I also have same problem on driver side rear door - it locks ok with remote fob but only unlocks sometimes/randomly but then only with interior release handle or driver door pillar rocker switch. You can hear when the mechanism unlocks the door but there does not seem to be any pattern to it! I have 1.4s without electric rear windows - how easy is it to remove rear door card ? can someone give me a step by step guide or point me to a guide? - thanks

Lol. Wonder if this is an end of summer problem,
for the last few days my beep hasn't been bleeping when locking the car, it still bleeped when opening though, anyway, I went to open the rear drivers side door today but it wouldn't open, after 5 mins of faffing about and the alarm sounding a few times I discovered that the alarm sets and everything locks like it should do except the dodgy door, it still locks and unlocks with the main lock button though, any ideas as to what may be causing this, will vagcom show a fault code?

Sorry to re-open a fairly old thread but my 05 LCR has just started giving me the same problem!

Opened and locked the doors on Monday and all was fine, went out in the car yesterday and went to lock it...indicators didnt flash and rear passenger door was still unlocked, even though all other three were locked. The alarm goes off when opening the rear door with all others locked so dont think its anything to do with the central locking.

Was just wondering if anyone found a solution to the problem in the end?

Any advice would be much appreciated
