Rear spring and shocks 2011 FR DSG CEGA

Hey guys, hoping to get some advice. My rear springs are nearing replacement time and figured probably might as well do shocks at the same time given car is at 113k miles and I don’t know all it’s history (doesn’t have FSH from dealer). So I’m wondering;

1, Is there anything else on the rear suspension that’s worth doing at the same time? Bushes etc?

2, What’s a good quality replacement for the coil springs and shock absorbers? i.e. brand-wise etc.

I want to keep the sporty feel of the FR but I don’t want to lower it or make it any firmer than it currently is. Prefer a softer ride tbh, but don’t want to deviate too much 🤣

Appreciate any advice 👍🏻

ta, Rob

You need to be careful that you get the right items, because most motorfactors will happily sell you the non-FR suspension for the regular models.
Then your car will sit too high and not handle correctly.

ECP do Sachs rear shocks and springs for the FR:

Spring
Shock

For the front they do a Sachs spring but only a Bilstein shock

Spring
Shock

You might well find your rear alignment bolts are seized, they're a pig to do, but obviously you won't be changing the arms out if they're stuck in place.
So get a spanner on there and see if they are moving or not, then you can kind of figure out what you might need to do next.

Check the rubbers on the rear make sure they are alright. Other than that just look at the OEM replacement, autodoc is recommend if you can get the part number of the bots you want to replace and it should give you OEM replacement parts or you can put your reg in, be aware that there can be variations in the sizes for example for the front depending on what car version you have is over 50mm or 55mm.
