10 minute job to fit mate you need to take out the plastic trim with the speacker in above its 5 plastic nuts one is behind the seat back and presto its off and you need to chop a bit of the trim out which bit will be obvious when you have a look

Has anyone else installed a RAIDHP rear strut brace from a MK1 GTI that actually drills into the side of the strut housing (as opposed to sitting on top)?

I'm skeptical as to what aid these braces are providing when just attached to the top of the strut, imo it should be firmly drilled on (like you would the front) to provide the most effectiveness?

Not really no. If you think about it the struts aren't going to move if both tops are connected with a bar. By drilling into the side of the wheel arch is what your technically doing so the struts won't be held at all.

going to cut it off tommrrow as dont really need it and trim the other side a bit then all will be good but the brace is fitted was really easy to do and should be good when fitted properly.. an thanks every one for the help
