Hello everyone,
I want to retrofit a rear USB-C socket in my Seat Ibiza. The rear armrest trim looks the same as the one used in the VW Polo, and I found Polo trims on eBay that already include a USB-C socket. I also found the connector reference, but I don’t know how to wire it. Could someone please explain the wiring or point me to a wiring diagram? Thanks!

Hello,

I found a wiring diagram for the Polo AW1 and the module for the USB charging socket that i have is 2G6 035 718. I can see that pin 3 is used for the USB port illumination and is connected to KL58d, which is used for the interior lighting. I would like to know the voltage on this pin and whether anyone has the right pinout for this module.

I have done this, the easiest way is to simply buy an adapter that takes power from the 12V cigarette lighter. Can get the adapter on Ali Express

Hello, thanks for your reply, and sorry I didn’t provide an update here. I was actually able to install it successfully back in December. I bought the adapter but I had to modify the connector and the pinout since VW has several different USB charging socket configurations

Awesome! Do your USB ports illuminate around the ports?

That looks great mine doesn't light up, but I'm not sure if it's because it's missing a pin? Do you remember the adapter you bought?
