Rear washer leak?

My friend has a 5dr Mk2, which has a water leak somewhere.

When I had a look at it, the water seems to be coming from the o/s/r area and trickling down into the wheel well.

I think it might be the rear washer pipe, but where does this run exactly? Is it a black pipe?

It sprays on screen fine though, It's not from the tailgate, its somewhere on the main body

the pipe comes into the boot where the rear lights are on the left (when you look at it) so kerb side. There's an elbow that always comes off. You have to duck down into the boot & look up/to your left to see it. In the tailgate itself, the cover can be pulled away & the pipe does disconnet there too - mine does it all the time, but water still manages to spray on the screen - it pops off just enought o leak & spray at the same time. Winter's worse because you use it more.

in the boot ? park on a angle or kerb?

floor is flat more or less and if the pipe comes off it's capable of spraying the front screen if you aim it right :)

Passenger side is dry, seemed to be worse by where the arch finished and meets the rear panel

just wondering if the sunroof drain pipe on that side has split or popped up inside as with the recent weather it would surely have seen some action but depends on how/where its parked etc as well as on top

rare i admit but not impossible of course

if the drain tubes go into sills, try cleaning out the drain holes in sills. if there is nowhere for water to go it will find holes that are on the inside
