I have read a few posts where people describe removing windows, and seen some guides but they all seem to be for front windows.

I've got a 03 Cupra, and the rear passenger side door is stuck shut. All of the other doors open ok. Vag Com gives the fault code 00930 pointing at the locking module. I've got the door card off, but can't get to the lock as the large metal panel is fixed in place by the window.

I can see the plastic retainer that pushes through the bottom of the window to secure it, and have seen people on here say to remove it, but how??? If anyone has done it can you let me know what position the window needs to be in and what you used to push the retainer out.

Thanks.

BUMP!!

Please someone help!! Got the door in bits, and the Mrs will only drive around like that for so long!! Don't really want to put it back together until it's sorted as I'll only have to take it apart again!!

Thanks

Got the retaining pin out, just had to support the glass to stop it flexing too much, then it just took a good push.

It doesn't give much more room, as the lock that is deadlocked is riveted to the same metal panel as the window mechanism!!

I phoned a dealer to ask what to do to get the lock off, and they were suprisingly helpful. The bloke confirmed it is a bitch of a job and there is no way of getting the lock off without breaking it in this situation. So I need a new one, which I'll get over the weekend. When I do I'll need to get the old one broken off. Anybody got any ideas how?? Just lever it up until it snaps?? Using what?? Anyone done it before?

The door is locked shut, so the dealer reckons I have to snap the lock where it "holds" on to the hook that is on the skin of the vehicle (if that makes sense!) Just not really sure how! I wouldn't have thought it will snap too easily otherwise we'd all have our cars stolen regularly!
